Renowned both nationally and internationally, Aphros Wine stands out both for its philosophy and practice of biodynamic viticulture – a field in which it is a pioneer in Portugal – and for its innovative natural winemaking methods. It has a range of 15 different wines on offer made from the regional grape varieties Arinto, Loureiro, Vinhão, and Alvarelhão.
Established in 2004 by the architect Vasco Croft on a 17th-century family estate with six hectares of vineyards, the estate has continued to grow ever since. It now exports to over 20 countries, having purchased a property in Refoios, Ponte de Lima, where it built a modern winery capable of processing grapes from a total area of 20 hectares.
In the creative and experimental setting of a "wine workshop”, the talented team of enologists is dedicated to reinventing Vinho Verde using natural methods, whether by refining profiles that are already modern national classics, such as Aphros Loureiro and Vinhão, or by creating innovative profiles that the region has never seen before.
