Vinho Verde Guarantee Seals
The Guarantee Seal, as the name implies, is a protection for consumers.
1959: CVRVV was authorized by the Portuguese government to issue seals of origin to ensure the authenticity of the DO Vinho Verde products.
The seal is proof that the contents have been certified as DO Vinho Verde and IG Minho products.
What does it guarantee?Above all, three things: authenticity, conformity, quality
In other words, a bottle with the Vinho Verde or Minho Regional Seal guarantees that the wine originates in the region, that it has been produced with the appropriate grape varieties, that it complies with all production regulations, and that it has successfully passed the analytical and sensory evaluation.
Each guarantee seal is numbered to differentiate one individual bottle, so that it may be tracked from its production until it is poured into the wine lover's glass.
In addition to the DO Vinho Verde and IG Minho seals, the Vinho Verde region also issues and controls the Monção and Melgaço Guarantee Seal which attests to the specificity of this subregion.
